Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th, 1991. She's an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October of 2016 Ari Lennox dropped her EP Pho. It was here that she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music online in the year 2012 after she dropped her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her own single Bound, as well as her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. The 21st day of July, 2015, Omen included her in Elephant Eyes the track"Sweat it Out.. The following year, her music was circulating around the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some potential references to Rihanna. On December 8, she signed with Dreamville Records. The record Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016, the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was joined by EarthGang. In 2018 she went on to be a guest on two songs with her labelmates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The album's first single, Whipped Cream, from the album was released on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a the music video. On November 9, she released two additional singles, forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Two more singles were released on the 11th of November Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby was then able to make an appearance on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this track as a single in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. It was released with the music video which debuted in February 20th, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views on YouTube within the first week. She was the supporting act for 6LACK during their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December of 2018.
